PRIMARY FUNCTION

 

The Director, Evidence to Action leads visionary and strategic efforts that translate cutting-edge research into field-level change. This role is responsible for identifying and equipping institutions, networks, and influencers who can adopt and scale our evidence-based approaches to combating antisemitism and related forms of hate. The Director is a systems thinker and program-doer with an eye for power-building, network influence, and sustainable norm change.

Responsibilities

Primary: 

  • Movement Infrastructure: Map and engage key sectors (education, philanthropy, faith, community orgs, advocacy networks) that can amplify and apply our research;
  • Narrative Influence: Collaborate with comms and research teams to align messaging and storytelling with field activation strategies;
  • Strategy Design: Develop strategic frameworks for diffusing research-backed norms and interventions across geographies and institutions;
  • Field Enablement: Create scalable resources (toolkits, playbooks, trainings) to support field partners in adopting and adapting research-backed practices;
  • Feedback Loops: Capture learnings from field partners to inform research priorities and program refinement.

Qualifications

Skills:

 

  • Strong grasp of systems thinking, power mapping, and institutional change strategies;
  • Track record of building partnerships and influencing decision-makers outside of formal authority;
  • Experience translating complex ideas into accessible, actionable strategies;
  • Excellent facilitation, relationship management, and cross-sector communication skills;
  • Familiarity with Jewish communal infrastructure, antisemitism, or civil rights issues a plus;
  • Familiarity using research to make informed professional decisions.

Work Experience:

 

  • The ideal candidate has significant experience in field organizing, movement strategy, community engagement, or ecosystem building, and several years’ experience in strategic communications, policy advocacy, and program advancement.

Education:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, or related field, or equivalent experience required.

Work Environment: 

  • ADL is a hybrid environment; this role may require 3 days in the office.

Compensation: 

  • This position has a salary range of $105,000 to $135,000. This salary range is reflective of a position based in New York, New York. Please note that actual salaries are commensurate with experience and reflect the budget for a given position, and since ADL has a location-based compensation structure, there may be a different range for candidates in other locations.
