PRIMARY FUNCTION:

 

The Operations Reporting and Insights Analyst supports the development of data-driven insights and analytics that power operational excellence and strategic decision-making across ADL. This role responsible for harvesting, cleaning, analyzing, and visualizing data across multiple platforms (including Salesforce, Power BI, Tableau, etc.).

 

This role contributes to the creation of dashboards for senior leadership and stakeholders, supports cross-functional data initiatives, leads strategic data reporting and collection projects, and represents operations priorities in organizational efforts and roundtables related to data infrastructure, governance, analytics, and reporting. A critical component of the role involves working with different program owners, including ADL’s Holocaust Education Program, to collect data from different sources, transform it into clean datasets, and translate it into actionable insights that inform performance measurement, strategic planning, and executive decision-making.

Responsibilities

Data Analysis and Operational Insight

  • Collect and clean data from a variety of sources to ensure its accuracy and usability for analysis.
  • Conduct in-depth statistical analysis to support strategic and operational decisions.
  • Design and manage dashboards (using tools like Power BI or Tableau) to track performance and inform business strategy.
  • Develop clear, accessible reports and presentations that translate complex data into actionable insights for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and other documentation to streamline data-related processes.

 

Cross-Functional Data and Tech Collaboration

  • Partner with various departments to gather reporting requirements and provide data support.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert, guiding teams on data needs and priorities.
  • Act as a lead user for Salesforce, participating in data governance and ensuring the platform is used effectively.
  • Support the implementation of data governance best practices, including quality control and standardization.
  • Provide training and support to colleagues on data and analytics platforms.
  • Offer hands-on technical assistance to help departments use data-related tools.

 

Data Maintenance and Reporting for ADL’s Holocaust Education Program

  • Collect and compile program participation data from various sources.
  • Create and maintain the systems used for data analysis and reporting.

Qualifications

Skills: 

  • Proven ability to collect, clean, manipulate, and analyze datasets from various sources. Expertise in visualizing and presenting data using platforms like Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce data and reporting tools.
  • Solid Excel modeling and data transformation skills.
  • Track-record of cleaning, manipulating, and analyzing datasets from various sources. 
  • Demonstrable commitment to detail, time management and data accuracy.
  • Experience communicating analytical findings to non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work proactively - independently, in small groups, and in cross-functional or matrix teams

Preferred

  • Working knowledge of SQL and database structures
  • Intermediate/advanced proficiency in one or more data analysis tools (e.g., R, Python [Pandas/NumPy], SPSS, STATA)
  • Experience developing databases and data visualization using no-code data platforms (e.g., Airtable)

Work Experience 

  • The ideal candidate has significant years’ experience in a professional data or analytics function, and can demonstrate a progressive increase in skills and responsibility in the ownership of data operations and/or BI processes.
  • Previous experience in a large matrixed organization is a plus.

 

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in quantitative field (e.g., Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Public Policy) or equivalent experience required.

Work Environment: 

  • ADL is a hybrid environment; this role may require 3 days in the office.

Compensation: 

  • This position has a salary range of $80,000 to $100,000. This salary range is reflective of a position based in New York, New York. Please note that actual salaries are commensurate with experience and reflect the budget for a given position, and since ADL has a location-based compensation structure, there may be a different range for candidates in other locations.
