PRIMARY FUNCTION:

 

The Associate Director (AD) collaborates with the Ratings and Assessments Institute (RAI) Associate Director of Research and the Senior Director to inform the development of projects and products, and to hold institutions and systems accountable in the fight against antisemitism. The AD plays a key role in managing the execution of RAI’s core assessments from early development through final product launch. The AD works across the organization to leverage the expertise, experience, relationships, and collaborates with a diverse group of partner organizations, comprising experts in the relevant fields and representatives from Jewish and non-Jewish organizations. They support an expanded effort in evaluating higher education responses to Antisemitism, inform new strategic initiatives to expand assessments and analyses across various new sectors, support research projects, and produce polished, high-impact deliverables.

Responsibilities

Primary:

  • Work with the RAI team to identify sectors to assess and the criteria to be evaluated to determine how specific sectors are addressing antisemitism with.
  • Assimilate and aggregate research for use in drafting reports, articles, and presentations and translating research to support advocacy efforts.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to integrate research outcomes into actionable initiatives; ensure internal teams and external stakeholders understand the findings and are bought-in to the action plans.
  • Create and deliver resources and training programs to engage stakeholders in advocacy driven by RAI products and findings.
  • Address challenges and opportunities proactively, ensuring projects meet quality standards and timelines.

Qualifications

Skills:

  • Ability to synthesize complex information and communicate findings effectively.
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Experience working in an advocacy environment and using data and research findings as the grounding for policy advocacy.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to engage with experts, policymakers, and community leaders.
  • Commitment to advancing transparency and accountability in addressing antisemitism.
  • A demonstrated interest in ADL’s mission and policy priorities.
  • Able to develop project/work plans and execute on them with minimal supervision.
  • Creative problem solver with entrepreneurial spirit and self-starting nature.
  • Results-oriented with a sense of urgency. Willing to make tough decisions in a timely manner.
  • Team player with willingness to play multiple positions as needed.
  • Approaches problems with a solutions mindset.

 

Education:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent professional experience in public policy, political science, communications, or a related field.

 

Work Experience:

  • The ideal candidate has significant professional experience in public policy or political campaigns, communications, consulting, nonprofit operations, or similar fields with demonstrable expertise or significant experience in advocacy and engagement.

 

Work Environment:

  • Flexibility is required to work extended hours or on weekends as may be needed.
  • Ability to spend long hours upon occasion at workstation/computer.
  • Occasional travel is required to attend meetings, events and conferences.
  • ADL is a hybrid environment; this role may require 3 days in the office.

 

Compensation

  • This position has a salary range of $60,000 to $82,000. This salary range is reflective of a position based in New York, New York. Please note that actual salaries are commensurate with experience and reflect the budget for a given position, and since ADL has a location-based compensation structure, there may be a different range for candidates in other locations.
