SUPERVISION EXERCISED: 5-7 full-time employees, contractors

LOCATION: New York, NY (CSC) preferred 

Grade/Class: Grade I, Exempt, PSA-Eligible

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

 

The Senior Director of Analysis & Innovation holds a vital role within the Center on Extremism (COE) team, with primary responsibilities centered around spearheading the development and implementation of research initiatives and analyses concerning anti-Israel and associated antisemitic activities and trends in the United States. This role entails supervising a team of analysts and researchers, contributing to the formulation of a comprehensive research agenda. The ideal candidate will have a strategic mindset that enables them to think holistically about leveraging COE research and analysis to further ADL’s mission.

Responsibilities

Primary: 

 

  • Oversee the development and execution of research and analyses related to anti-Israel activity and trends, including antisemitic themes and issues.
  • Identify high-impact opportunities where research and analysis can enhance strategic efforts.
  • Lead, motivate and manage staff, assigning and guiding research and ensuring expectations and deadlines are met, and procedures are adhered to.
  • Collaborate on the development and execution of innovative strategies to counter antisemitism, extremism, and hate.
  • Contribute to the development of clear, consistent, and compelling communication materials for various audiences.
  • Ensure quality and consistency of resources for external and internal audiences.
  • Work with consultants and partners on select research projects.
  • Work closely with COE Sr. Team to implement priorities, strategies, and impact goals.
  • Represent ADL with external audiences including media, donors and partner organizations as needed.

Qualifications

Qualifications/Skills:

 

  • Proven ability to plan and organize major organizational activities while managing multiple priorities.
  • Excellent management, operational, communication and leadership skills.
  • Established familiarity with issues related to antisemitism preferred.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, able to perform under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to multi-task and act flexibly in response to changing priorities.
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues, anticipate challenges, and devise effective solutions.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to demonstrate good judgment under pressure.
  • Highly tuned attention to detail with the ability to see the “big picture”.
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff.
  • Passion to join the fight against antisemitism, extremism and all forms of hate.

 

Work Experience: 

 

  • The ideal candidate has significant years’ experience and leadership in an advocacy or action-oriented research environment and can demonstrate significant experience developing and executing strategy and, managing and developing teams.

Work Environment: 

 

  • ADL is a hybrid environment; this role may require 3 days in the office.

Education:  

 

  • Master’s degree or equivalent work experience required.

Compensation: 

 

  • This position has a salary range of 150,000 to 180,000. This salary range is reflective of a position based in New York, New York. Please note that actual salaries are commensurate with experience and reflect the budget for a given position, and since ADL has a location-based compensation structure, there may be a different range for candidates in other locations.
