PRIMARY FUNCTION:

 

The Senior Associate Regional Director for Outreach and Partnership oversees ADL’s engagement of the Jewish community and Jewish communal institutions throughout the Midwest (northern IL, IN, IA, western KS, MN, NE, ND, SD and WI), collaborates with ADL colleagues and partners to support Jewish students on campus, and designs and implements regional and national ADL programs to combat antisemitism.  The Senior Associate Regional Director also manages the Midwest Assistant Regional Director, Leadership Engagement, a new position responsible for developing and overseeing a Midwest leadership engagement strategy and manage key volunteer relationships in the region.

Responsibilities

Primary:

  • Understand and stay up to date on the organization of the Jewish community, Jewish communal institutions, and priorities in key markets throughout the Midwest to inform the development of a Jewish community engagement strategy and resource allocation.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Jewish community organizations in the Midwest, to foster collaboration, resource sharing, community action, and community cohesion.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen relationships with the Jews of Color community, Orthodox leaders and institutions, and Israelis living the Midwest, among other important stakeholders in the Jewish community.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance the impact, reach, and support of ADL programming and resources through initiatives like the Midwest Signature Synagogue and ADL Kulanu programs, ADL’s Words to Action education programming, and other regional engagement opportunities.
  • In collaboration with ADL colleagues, establish and maintain partnerships with campus organizations and key campus leaders.

 

Secondary:

  • Promote the organization's mission and engagement with the wider Jewish community through outreach, education, and advocacy efforts.
  • Represent the organization at community events, conferences, and meetings to strengthen relationships and raise awareness.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure program objectives are met, including program expansion, participant engagement, and help track program outcomes.
  • Strategize and support efforts to engage Jewish students on college campuses by creating and executing comprehensive strategies that promote Jewish engagement and antisemitism advocacy.
  • Represent ADL before school and student group audiences and facilitate trainings about confronting antisemitism, including facilitation of ADL’s Words to Action education program.   
  • Provide staff support to volunteer-led committees as assigned.  Assist with related program and event planning.  Coordinate speakers and logistics for related conferences. 

Qualifications

Skills:  

  • Demonstrated ability to engage and build relationships with diverse segments of the Jewish community.
  • Strong strategic planning and problem-solving skills to drive program and community growth.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking and presentation abilities.
  • Effective project management skills to oversee multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, community partners, and volunteers.

 

 Work Experience:  

  • The ideal candidate has several years’ experience in community engagement, program management, or a related role and familiarity with Jewish communal organizations and understanding of the Jewish community's dynamics and needs.
  • Experience working with Federations and other Jewish community organizations is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of campus engagement and experience working with Jewish student groups is a plus.

 

 Education:  

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or equivalent experience required.

 

Work Environment: 

  • ADL is a hybrid environment; this role may require 3 days in the office.

 

Compensation:

  • This position has a salary range of $84,240 to $89,000. This salary range is reflective of a position based in Chicago, IL. Please note that actual salaries are commensurate with experience and reflect the budget for a given position, and since ADL has a location-based compensation structure, there may be a different range for candidates in other locations.
