PRIMARY FUNCTION:

 

The Engagement Marketing Manager plays an important role in the Brand and Marketing Department at the national headquarters of ADL. This individual will be a key member of the Marketing team, reporting to the Director of Direct Response Marketing, responsible for the aspects of the direct response program and its associated annual fundraising goals. This role will also manage marketing efforts to support department initiatives and events, improve brand awareness, grow our audience and increase engagement.

Responsibilities

Primary:

  • Responsibility for the execution of direct response initiatives, to continue elevating our direct response program and achieve our fundraising and engagement goals.
  • Analyze and evaluate direct response campaigns and performance, and use results to guide data-driven decisions on strategies that drive new donor acquisition and improve conversion and retention among ADL donor base.
  • Manage direct response budget spend and reconciliation to ensure the direct response program is on track and achieving targeted ROI.
  • Oversee CSC Direct Response Classy donation pages including creation, customizations, and optimizations to maximize donor conversions.
  • Responsible for operational tasks for successful execution of SMS and direct mail programs, including vendor contracts, state registrations, invoices, postage requests, working with Philanthropy Ops team on importing campaign data into our CRM, and management of Third-Party Rental of ADL Donor File.
  • Manage ADL’s general reply inbox by sending replies, analyzing emails, creating reports, and elevating to senior leadership.

 

Secondary:

  • Collaborate with Directors of Direct Response Marketing and Engagement Marketing team to build decks and reports analyzing email and fundraising performance to inform internal stakeholders and marketing strategy.
  • Contribute to the implementation and evolution of new tactics such as email automations, custom welcome journeys, advocate supporter journey and conversion to donors, audience segmentation, sustainer program, second gift conversion initiatives and more with the goal to increase gifts, donors, retention, engagement, and revenue.
  • Provide direct response expertise to Web Experience & Strategy Director for execution, optimization, and tracking of website visitor retargeting to generate leads and donations.
  • Identify new opportunities to increase engagement for supporters and event attendees, and manage said projects as they arise.
  • Provide Direct Response and ADL brand expertise by serving as liaison to ADL departments and regional offices for offline marketing projects, including review of copy and strategy.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Familiarity with PowerPoint and Excel a must, and Salesforce and donation platforms preferred.
  • Ability to write and edit compelling marketing copy a plus.

 Work Experience:  

  • The ideal candidate has significant experience with demonstrable increases in responsibility, skill, and leadership in a marketing role.
  • Previous marketing experience with a direct response, email, engagement, fundraising, or sales element required.

Education:  

  • BA/BS or equivalent experience required.
  • A degree in a related field (e.g., Marketing/Communications/Public Relations/ Advertising/Events) is preferred.

Work Environment:  

  • ADL is a hybrid environment; this role may require 3 days in the office.

Compensation: 

  • This position has a salary range of $70,000 to $90,000. This salary range is reflective of a position based in New York, New York. Please note that actual salaries are commensurate with experience and reflect the budget for a given position, and since ADL has a location-based compensation structure, there may be a different range for candidates in other locations.
