POSITION TITLE: Coordinator, Diplomatic Affairs 

REPORTS TO: Vice President, International Policy 

SUPERVISION EXERCISED: None 

LOCATION: New York, NY (CSC)  

Grade/Class: Grade C, Non-Exempt, Non-Union

PRIMARY FUNCTION: 

 

The Coordinator, Diplomatic Affairs will assist in carrying out all aspects related to ADL’s outreach to the diplomatic community, including the UN. Working closely with members of the IA team, the Coordinator will prepare background materials and arrangements for ADL diplomatic meetings, track and document meeting minutes and follow up, seek to enhance ADL’s outreach to members of the New York-based diplomatic community, coordinate and collaborate on the implemention of international affairs projects. 

Responsibilities

Primary:

  • Coordinate outreach to New York diplomatic corps and be part of the team representing ADL at diplomatic engagements.
  • Build a network of contacts with representatives of international organizations and foreign consulates in New York.
  • Coordinate aspects related to diplomatic and related International Affairs’ (IA) meetings including:
    • Develop backgrounders, talking points, presentations, and slide shows for IA meetings and presentations.
    • Assist in scheduling and set up of in-person and virtual meetings.
    • Note taking and drafting meeting readouts
  • Developing and maintaining database for contacts, notes, backgrounders, insights into diplomatic meetings.
  • Ensure updated content for IA staff, including PPTs, backgrounders and other materials.
  • Provide research and other assistance for IA subject matter experts.

Qualifications

Skills:  

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and presentation skills.  
  • Knowledge and understanding of foreign policy and issues of concern to the global Jewish community, specifically issues surrounding antisemitism, anti-Zionism, and extremism.   
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.  
  • Fluency in written and verbal English required. Fluency in other languages is a plus.

Work Experience:  

  • The ideal candidate has professional experience in an international organization and familiarity with issues related to the Jewish world and antisemitism. 

 

Education:  

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.  An advanced degree preferred. 

   

Work Environment:  

  • Flexibility to work across time-zones and in a hybrid working environment  
  • ADL is a hybrid environment; this role may require 3 days in the office.  

 

Compensation: 

  • This position has a salary range of $50,000.00 to $58,000.00. This salary range is reflective of a position based in NY.
