    The Manager of Direct Response Marketing will prepare, target, implement and analyze Donor Direct Mail campaigns and Donor Telemarketing campaigns, which includes Donor Acquisition and Donor Retention mailings for fundraising and constituency development.  The Manager of Direct Response Marketing will also be responsible for generating annual target net gift dollars as well as  managing annual expense budget.



    • Evaluate performance and strategy effectiveness of currently developed marketing plans. Track and evaluate response pattern analysis. Increase over-all direct response program net dollar revenue by percentage amount to be determined in discussions with SVP of Growth.    Coordinate and implement marketing efforts that improve the rate and volume of new donor acquisition. Improve conversion level among those newly acquired donors (from one-time to multi-gift supporters).  Implement geographic and demographic targeting of ADL donor base.  Provide management/oversight of direct mail agency relationship.
    • Develop and supervise production of related ADL print materials.
    • Identify and execute selection of all external mailing lists for acquisition mailing.
    • Responsible for sustained giving program, and other low dollar giving techniques and strategies.
    • Manage departmental response to mail / telemarketing complaints and informational requests from donors/prospects, and regional office requests for assistance/information.
    • Monitor (daily) vendor performance-Creative Consultants, database service providers, telemarketing firms, bank lockbox facility, list brokers, printers, mail-shops.  Responsible for vendor contracts.
    • Coordinate and implement potential transition to full service advertising/marketing agency. Monitor agency performance.
    • Provide intra-departmental oversight/expertise for direct marketing Agency projects. Review/recommend copy strategy.  Provide liaison to ADL divisions, departments and regional offices in managing direct response program with other agency activities.  Review/recommend job specifications for mailing.  Negotiate most cost efficient mail shop and prepare job specifications.
    • Responsible for all state registrations of the League.
    • Manage Third Party Rental of ADL Donor File


    • Work with national development team as needed to steward and follow up with donors.
    • Partner with Email Marketing Manager on list development and usage, message, strategy and measurement. 




    • Familiarity with databases, especially Salesforce - required
    • Knowledge of business contract law - preferred
    • Familiarity with PowerPoint, Excel, Pivot Tables, Database management and statistical analysis - required
    • Knowledge of print production - required


    Work Experience:

    • Require having between 5 to 7 years of directly related and progressively responsible experience in Direct Mail.
    • Require previous supervisory experience and program or operational management experience.
