    PRIMARY FUNCTION:

    An integral member of the Development team, the ideal candidate will be committed to advancing the goals and mission of ADL. The Development Coordinator will actively contribute to achieving the goals of a comprehensive annual fundraising campaign by assisting with all administrative tasks pertaining to prospect research, gift entry and follow up, stewarding individual and institutional donors, and executing community and fundraising events. The successful candidate enjoys being a part of a collaborative and energetic team and thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced organization. This position will report to ADL NY/NJ’s Director of Development and Leadership and will work collaboratively with ADL’s National Growth team.

    Responsibilities

    PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Process and input all gifts and pledges and prepare donoracknowledgment letters.
    • Ensure donor and prospect information and communications are properly and thoroughly recorded in the donor database, in accordance with department policies and procedures.
    • Research prospective and existing donors and prepare detailed prospect briefings for meetings and events.
    • Assist with coordinating the logistics, implementation and follow-up pertaining to fundraising and stewardship events and Board and committee meetings.
    • Assist with the creation of internal and external communication pieces; including individual proposals, program or event briefings andappeals.
    • Produce and edit mailing lists and donor reports for the Development team and other departments, as needed.
    • Support the Director of Development and Leadership, as needed.

    SECONDARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Maintain an active, current body of knowledge of ADL and its mission, programs, activities, and fundraising priorities.
    • Uphold excellence in both written and verbal communications, as well as a dedication to superior customer service with an emphasis on relationship building.
    • Assist the Development team on special assignments to ensure long-term donor engagement and retention and support the successful completion of the region’s annual campaign.

    Qualifications

    QUALIFICATIONS:

     

    Work Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
    • One to two years of experience in administrative support, fundraising or related field.
    • Experience working in a national organization with an affiliate or chapter structure a plus.

    Skills:

    • Strong organizational and administrative skills. 
    • Commitment to transparency, accountability and direct communication.
    • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
    • Ability to manage highly sensitive, confidential information using excellent judgment at all times.
    • Demonstrated analytical skills related to complex donor research and information. 
    • Proficiency with MS Office applications (i.e. Word, Excel and Outlook), donor research platforms (i.e. Wealth Engine, Lexus Nexus) and database management software (Salesforce).

    Work Environment

    • Flexibility to work evenings required.
    • Desire to work and grow as a part of a highly motivated, dynamic and expanding Development team.

    • Salary and benefits are competitive and commensurate with experience.
